STAIN-REMOVING AGENTS We recommend a number of different cleaning agents in our stain-removal chart. We have drawn up a list of the agents we recommend to clean your ege carpet. Acetone Is highly inflammable. Do not inhale the fumes. N-heptane Is highly inflammable. Do not inhale the fumes. ege bleaching recipe • Wear plastic or rubber gloves (hydrogen peroxide can temporarily cause white marks on the fingers) • Pour 5 ml ammonium hydroxide 25% into a spray bottle • Then add 100 ml hydrogen peroxide 10% • Shake the bottle gently to mix the liquids • Spray on the stain, soaking it thoroughly with the solution • When the area has dried, the stain should be bleached away (The solution "evaporates away" and there is no need to remove it) • Repeat the treatment if necessary NB! Do not mix more of the solution than you need to use straight away (it does not keep until the next day.) Dispose responsibly of any excess solution immediately after use. Never keep the solution in a closed container, as pressure is created inside the bottle when the mixture becomes a gas. ege stain remover Effective, water-based universal stain remover, which removes most kinds of spots and stains. For further information, contact your local carpet dealer. White vinegar Remember to use clear white vinegar. Hazardous in contact with eyes and skin (irritant). Ethanol Methylated spirits or ethanol. Highly inflammable. Benzalkonium chloride (without chlorine bleaching agent) A disinfectant agent. Petroleum Use the odourless kind. Ammonium hydroxide Also called ammonia water, this agent is often an ingredient in ordinary household cleaning products. Corrosive, avoid skin contact. Turpentine Also called turpentine substitute. Highly inflammable and hazardous if inhaled. Turpen- tine may leave an oily spot, but this gradually evaporates. 14
