FOREWORD We can pride ourselves on having one of the industry's most solid foundations and a fine reputation all over the world. These are the results of and the reward for many years of earnest and determined efforts on our part which we naturally wish to continue. Despite the fact that the financial crisis left deep traces in most of the world and meant that more of our colleagues in the trade succumbed, egetæpper came strengthened out of the crisis. An essential reason to this was a clear strategy which we maintained with focus on product development and strengthening of the sales effort as well as current adjustment of the organisation and the costs. Consequently we are now well armed to grow in a world economy showing a conservative progress. Concurrently with the fact that conditions in the industry are changing it is natural to ask oneself whether the strategy still holds. In egetæpper we have made it a good habit to challenge our strategy at least twice a year to ensure that we are on the right course and that we are able to relate to new trends in due course. In this edition of the strategy folder we are looking towards 2020. The fundamental aspects of ege's strategy are still that we develop, design, sell and deliver high-quality carpets with respect for people and the environment. We address the more demanding sectors of the market where customers, consumers, architects/designers, flooring contractors etc. appreciate our many competences. We are the supplier of choice, to whom they turn when they are looking for design flexibility, sustainability and good service. Compared to the last version of our strategy brochure, "Strategy 2012-2014", we have adjusted and updated the paragraphs about ege's long-term development as well as market and organization strategy. And we have taken into consideration that the group now also consists of Bentzon Carpets, Hammer Tæpper and Litspin which are also comprised in the strategy. As an employee in the ege group you can view the strategy as a road map. Whenever you make an everyday decision or choice that fits into the strategy you contribute to making ege stronger. You have real, first-hand influence on how the ege group will develop. We trust that you, as always, will exercise your influence loyally and professionally.
